Diamond Circle

ICE 7 - Glacier Tour

Description
Have you ever tried an ice-cold water straight from the glacier? It doesn´t get more refreshing. This day trip is the same as Ice 5 but we´ve added The Golden Circle in the mix. In this day tour in Iceland we offer a lot of geographical diversity. We´ll go through the farming district of Borgarfjörður, visiting the highest-flow hot spring in Europe Deildartunguhver. You will visit the Lavawaterfalls, Hraunfossar and onwards through the woodlands of Húsafell and up to the desert highlands by Langjökull glacier. At the roots of the glacier we board our Ice Explorer which will take you to the top of Europe‘s second largest glacier Langjökull. We will explore the glacier and experience the unique traveling on top of the snow on a thick solid glacier. We will learn about its movements and see how the melting water forms rivers and lagoons. Furthermore we will see how the glacier is melting because of global warming. In the afternoon you take the highland track of Kaldidalur to the national park of Þingvellir where the oldest parliament in the world, Althingi was formed. From here you will continue from Thingvellir National Park to the beautiful waterfall Gullfoss and famous Geysir before you return to Reykjavík.
