Description
This tour takes you through the farming district of Borgarfjörður, visiting the highest-flow hot spring in Europe Deildartunguhver, flow rate of 180L per second. You will visit the Lavawaterfalls, Hraunfossar and onwards through the woodlands of Húsafell and up to the desert highlands by Langjökull glacier.  At the roots of the glacier we board our Ice Explorer which will take you to the top of Europe‘s second largest glacier Langjökull. We will explore the glacier and experience the unique traveling on top of the snow on a thick solid glacier. We will learn about its movements and see how the melting water forms rivers and lagoons. Furthermore we will see how the glacier is melting because of global warming.  In the afternoon you take the highland track of Kaldidalur to the national park of Þingvellir and from there back to Reykjavík.

For extra charge it is possible to add the Golden Circle to your adventure day ICE 7 , then you will continue from Þingvellir national park to the beautiful waterfall Gullfoss and famous Geysir before you return to Reykjavík.
